This is a quick, feel-good holiday read. And with the two stories, you really feel like you're getting a bargain. Since the main characters in each story are sisters, you do benefit from having already invested in the supporting characters of the family by the time you get to the second story. It's a few years old, but the story doesn't feel "dated" and it's perfect for the Christmas season.
I enjoyed reading the normal everyday feelings and thoughts everyone has as we put up our defenses and try to protect ourselves. Yet others are just willing to help and be of use to those around them if they are allowed to. Relaxing caring sharing ideas of why we do what we do which sometimes blocks our own personal progress of moving on in life.
I enjoyed both of these stories, although I liked the second one more than the first. Like other reviewers, I enjoyed that the stories overlapped a bit because the main characters are sisters. This was my first time reading anything by Patricia Thayer, but I will look for more of her stories. I picked these up because they were $.99 on my kindle and I'm glad that I did.
I enjoyed watching as each character grew before my eyes. Even guessing the ending long before it was revealed didn't bother me because it is the journey that makes us who we are and the same goes for the characters in the story.
I loved these two stories. The authors did a great job. The events of family are sometimes more involved than even the family members know. Each girl being strong for the other is sometimes very hard and sometimes causes more problems. I would definitely recommend this book.
I enjoyed this book but was so upset about the misused words that I couldn't enjoy them as I would have preferred. I would love to ask the author about her proofreader but there is no place to do that on her author page. If you are reading this please note that "peddle" is a verb that means to sell - it has nothing to do with a gas "pedal".
We have two sisters keeping it together. We have two hero's needing what those ladies are offering. Don't you love reading in books what could happen in real life? You're left with good feelings. These are all good people with minor flaws, just like you and I have when we have hurts from the past to overcome. Read knowing love conquers.
